Bringing Italian style to Ipswich

Contact us

My mission is to bring Italian style to the UK.

Well, what a difficult time we have all had,

we lived through Covid in the hope that when it was over we could all get back to normal. Then with the disaster that is Brexit and now we have this terrible war.

The cost of living crisis with gas, electric and petrol prices rising and now to add to it all strikes! What choice do we have than to battle on as best we can especially our small businesses. Certainly the problem financially for me, has been Brexit with the staggering taxes I’ve had to pay to import Italian clothing and also the quite considerable increase in the cost of that clothing even before the taxes.

With all of this, thankfully I still have a business in fact a good business with many people still preferring to shop in small independent shops rather than buying from the big chains, and of course, the very big and powerful designer labels. My business is so different from those much larger companies that import simply from whoever can produce the goods at the lowest price which of course means people working for very low income, and little regard to producing in an ethical way.

Italy has so many small independent artisan factories that pay a living wage without the need to pollute the atmosphere or the waterways. Of course, this kind of clothing is more expensive to produce, but it can be done by importing in the most economic way. For me, this means travelling to Italy to import direct under my own label with no reps, trade shows or brand owners to pay for the privilege of advertising their own brands.

Antonio Bellini is a totally independent registered trademark brand only available in The Italian Shirt Shop in Saint Peter Street Ipswich. If you enjoy beautiful Italian clothing at an affordable price then this is a shop for you.

Look forward to seeing you very soon.

With Best wishes from Antonio Bellini.

Here we are in this very sad time

with the total disruption of our lives and businesses.

Nothing is more important than the health and safety of us all but looking forward all this will have to be paid for by people like me paying more taxes.

If after this trauma more people shop in our beautiful little independent shops this will help so much, not only will the profits convert to more taxes paid, shopping local will support our local economy i.e. Shop in my shop in Ipswich then I will use that money to buy food in local shops, preferably independent shops. Then when going out, again it will be in local independent restaurants and bars.

So hopefully when this horrible time is over

we can all do the right thing and yes it may cost slightly more to support small shops rather than buying more cheaply made designer labels or ridiculously cheep garments made for chain-stores from the Far East. You could instead be buying beautifully designed clothes made from quality cloth with the love and passion of people

who truly believe in quality and service.

Sincerely looking forward to the day when we can all get back to work and start repaying for the very heavy financial cost of this tragedy and most importantly never forgetting the debt we owe our essential services who have all been truly magnificent.

We who have simply locked down so as not to spread this awful virus

will live in their debt forever.

Antonio Bellini.

With my absolute love of stylish quality clothing some 20 years ago Itoured Italy looking for quality Italian factories thatcould produce under my registered trademark of Antonio Bellini.

Prior to this in 1985 I opened a shop selling the usual designer labelswhich were bought from sales reps and commercial shows all over the country.Basically the same as most high end over priced shops you will see in most HighStreets.

When after four years this shop closed, I then decided to make it mymission to find the factories that produced these high end labels, then withgentle persuasion invite them to produce under my own Antonio Bellini label, in 2006 this was achieved. Since then I have been producing literally thousandsof Italian shirts then moving on to jackets, trousers and coats as the businessgrew.

I can now supply you with the most beautifully made Italian clothes at a  fraction of the cost of much more cheaply made garments from Vietnam, Bangladesh, China, Sri Lanka, Cambodia and many other countries that produce for high-end Designer Labels.

In reality these so-called high-end labels are mostly made everywhere but Italy as Italydoes produce the highest quality clothing that for most high-end labels is justtoo expensive so they tend to produce in what can best be described as moreeconomic countries.

The difference in my little independent shop everything is made in Italyso you can be sure of the highest possible quality and of course at the lowestpossible price.

St Peters street simply the best road in Ipswich.

The Italian Shirts Shop is situated in what I consider to be the loveliest Road in Ipswich. Full of quaint little independent shops all giving the wonderful personal service that little shops are so well known for.

I love Italy.

My absolute love of Italy makes it a pleasure to bring Italian style to Ipswich. If it has my Antonio Bellini label it is simply the best In Italy.

Having a love of Italy and the Italian culture I would love to bring a little Italian style to Ipswich. So often I am out at a restaurant and see people arriving for often an expensive meal in clothes that simply don’t match the surroundings. Ladies seem to make a considerable effort when going out but sadly men often neglect the need to spruce up a little before going out. What seems to me so very simple some others seem to struggle with, a shirt made to a wonderful design with beautiful cloth can look so good and yes it may cost £49- but will last for many years.

I so often see very badly designed shirts that look like they are made of cardboard with absolutely no style at all and it saddens me that I cannot give these people a little much-needed style for probably less money than they paid for their very cheaply made shirts.

So my mission is to bring Italian style to Ipswich or to anyone visiting my very exclusive Italian shirt shop.

They say that Rome wasn’t built in a day so perhaps I have a little more work to do.

With very best wishes Antonio Bellini.

At the factory in Naples.

Many years ago a family friend in the village in Italy introduced me to the latest factory in Naples where my Antonio Bellini shirts are made.
